FREE Student Term 1 Revision Webinars
This program has been developed to assist students consolidate term 1 concepts, whilst also demonstrating how their TI-Nspire™ CAS technology can assist in efficiently answering exam style questions.
Students will have the opportunity to ask the presenter questions and will receive a revision worksheet to practice concepts covered in each webinar.
VCE Maths Methods Program
7th April 2020
2pm – Functions and Graphs Part 1
We will review polynomial and rational functions showing tips and tricks on the TI-Nspire™ CAS Calculator from graphing and finding points of interest to solving modelling and application questions.
3pm – Functions and Graphs Part 2 – User Defined Functions
We will ask the question – “Have you ever wanted to save precious time in technology active assessments, such as exams?” Learn how to pre-prepare your TI-Nspire™ CAS Calculator by creating User Defined Functions and Widgets that can solve certain styles of exam questions more efficiently to gain extra time in an exam. The UDFs and widgets presented will be available to download.
8th April 2020
2pm – Transformations and Composite Functions
We will explore the effect of transformations on the graphs of functions, including the application of matrices to transformations. We will also look at composite functions, including finding the rule of a composite function and its domain and range. Tips and tricks on effective use of TI-Nspire will be offered throughout the webinar.
3pm – Applications of Differentiation
We will review the applications of differentiation to curve sketching, the gradient function, tangent and perpendicular lines, and solving maximum or minimum application questions. Tips and tricks on effective use of TI-Nspire™ CAS Calculator will be offered throughout the webinar.
9th April 2020
3pm – Circular/Trigonometric Functions
We will explore key features and properties of circular/trigonometric functions and their graphs, the solution of trigonometric equations, and modelling applications of circular functions. Tips and tricks on effective use of TI-Nspire will be offered throughout the webinar.
4pm – Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
We will explore key features and properties of exponential functions and their graphs, the solution of indicial equations, the concept of inverse functions, logarithmic functions, and modelling applications of exponential functions. Tips and tricks on effective use of TI-Nspire™ CX CAS Calculator will be offered throughout the webinar.
